I am trying to setup VyprVPN to work on my Billion 8900X R3. Basically I would like the modem to permanently establish a connection through VyprVPN network (L2TP IPSec) and set that as default gateway, so that all my devices traffic would be tunnelled through the VPN connection. I have been fumbling around with settings without much success. Any idea how this can be done?

I would suggest using PPTP for the time being, as there seems to be compatibility issues with L2TP over IPsec

Why are you going for a Vyprvpn. There are others so many to choose from. Any specific reason or quality which i do not know of may be?

I tried also other VPN providers. I didn't succeed with any of the providers. Now I am trying with NordVPN since they have a very dedicated customer support highly experienced. We tried to make IPSec over L2TP and even OpenVPN. Nothing.

Specifically OpenVPN would require a TLS certificate to be loaded, but this is not possible. L2TP for some reason does not accept the handshake. According to all VPN providers Billion software is kind of outdated and does not support modern methods (with modern meaning less than 5 years old...)

Any solution or answer from Billion?

Use PPTP, it will work with most VPN providers

I tried. It gives the same problem as the L2TP. On top of the PPTP is not a very secure protocol. This modem supports L2TP over IPSec and OpenVPN. I dont know why they do not make those work...

The UK model does not currently support open VPN, PPTP confirmed working with Nord VPN. (confirmed with a another customer and tested by me and him, working 8900 series was used)

Strange, I tried with NordVPN for hours and hours to install their VPN services. It keeps giving an error. Do you have the settings on how to make it work?
