7800DXL and HomeHub5
I have recently had BT Infinity installed. I am trying to use the HH5 as close to a modem as possible and would like to use the 7800DXL for everything else. I have seen, and followed, the various other posts on how to do this on this forum but I just cannot get it to work; devices connected to the 7800DXL do not see the internet. [Ideally I'd like the DHCP service from the 7800DXL but that is not essential as long as I can get it working.] Are there any firewall or port forwarding settings that need adjusting on the HH5?

First you need to ensure your 7800DXL is set to a different IP address and range eg set the Billion to 192.168.2.254.Frank873 wrote:I have recently had BT Infinity installed. Once done, setup a Ethernet WAN connection, Type = 'IP Over Ethernet' once done, connect your HH5 to the EWAN port on the 7800DXL.
Then check the 'Status >> WAN ' page of the 7800DXL and ensure it has obtained a IP address from your HH5.
Note this IP down, login to your HH5 and put this IP address into DMZ, that should be it, 7800DXL should have the DHCP server enabled.

Re: 7800DXL and HomeHub5
Thanks. My error was that I was not using a different address range on the 7800DXL. It's now working fine.
I have read about an 8900 model to be released later this year. Is there any information you have on that please? I was considering the 8800axl as the HomeHub keeps dropping the connection a few times a day but if there is a newer model I might wait depending on the time to market. Thanks again.

Well we have the non wireless 8900x sample at the moment, but no news on the 8900 wireless version yet.Frank873 wrote:Thanks. My error was that I was not using a different address range on the 7800DXL. It's now working fine.
