URGENT: SSE username and password

I've just bought a Billion Bipac 8800NL router to replace the router provided by SSE, my ISP.

I need to find the SSE Username and Password in order to configure the Bipac. Could anyone provide me with these?

This is urgent and I'd really, really appreciate help here.

My best guess in the first instance would be to use your main email address and the accompanying password if it's for standard broadband. If it's fibre, you shouldn't need either.

Can you access the settings page of your SSE router from a web browser?
Typing 192.168.1.254 or 192.168.1.1 are the most likely IP addresses.
If you can, can you identify any of the settings?

Are you on VDSL (fibre) or ADSL?

If all else fails, SSE tech support are obliged to give you settings for your router.

192.168.1.1 logs me into the Zyxel P660HW-T1 V2 router but it gives access only to a Status page (which of course doesn't provide the username or password). It's a dreadful thing that configures itself and gives the user no control whatsoever over settings. I think it's designed for dummies. It certainly treats the user like one. So frustrating! Philip

I hate it when ISPs hide the nitty gritty!
I assume that you're on ADSL. That being so only SSE tech support can give you the info you need.
The other possible combo for username is your phone no. The convention would be 01234556677@sse.com or suchlike. Use your account or email password

Finally got username and password. Got the attention of SSE's social media team by tweeting (@YourSSE) and that led to an email correspondence. Impressed by the social media team, not by the support team.

Anyway, thanks to all who offered suggestions. We have a result!
