[URGENT PROBLEM - HELP?] Billion bipac 8900ax-2400 keeps crashing on latest firmware

Post by John21 »

Hello!

I have a Billion bipac 8900ax-2400 in the UK and my ISP is Sky Fibre Unlimited.

I work from home a lot as a lawyer so I use a VPN and a remote desktop connection to connect to work. I have never had a problem with this. I am using Windows 10 Pro x64

Since applying the latest firmware, factory resetting my router as instructed, and then setting everything up manually according to the instructions (not restoring old settings from a backup) I have the following problem:

1. On the Windows 10 desktop click the icon to connect to the work VPN - no problems, connects fine

2. On the Windows 10 desktop click the remote desktop connection icon for work, then click connect - the router immediately crashes requiring me to turn it off and on again.

This is a MASSIVE problem for me, as I now can't do any work today. HELP?

Many thanks!

Just as an FYI to anyone reading this forum, but my issue has NOT been fixed.

It seems the latest d3 firmware has an crashing issue when you try to connect to a remote desktop via a corporate VPN.

I have downgraded to the previous firmware d36 and now this works fine. So it's definitely a problem with the latest firmware.
