Issue with 8800NL R2 ONLY in Bridge Mode - Reboots

Post by marcusjclifford »

Hi All,
I have two Billion 8800NL R2 devices - grey ones.

The issue I have is when they are set in Full Bridge Mode they seem to reboot randomly within about 24 to 48 hours.
I used the absolutely standard setup without any specific additional configuration.
I am in the UK and have a variety of lines / locations / ISPs

I thought it may be the device, so I got another one (new) and it exhibits exactly the same reboot behaviour. Various location - various airflows (cool) so no overheating etc.

When in non-bridge more, they are rock solid stable. No reboots at all.

Is there an issue with the 8800NL R2 in bridge mode? Note I've tried this on a ADSL2+ line and also a FTTC (vDSL) line.
I set logging to a syslog server and set the level to debug, but nothing is logged as to what causes the reboot - just all the logging after it starts back up again.
One thing I was thinking, is when the 8800NL R2 is in bridge mode it does NOT have Internet access itself, could this have anything to do with it - like a watchdog behaviour etc?

I have older 8800NL (Non R2 - the white ones) and they work great in bridge mode - 100+ days uptime no issue.

Thanks in advance,
Marcus
