Hi,
I have two questions/problems:
1, Just purchased BiPAC 7800DXL. Connected it all up and got the Quickstart screen, left all default settings alone and click contiune then entered by virginmedia username and password and it returned a 'Fail' message. Try to change some settings but no progress. Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong or what the manual settings might need to be.
2, On my laptop I clicked connect to a network and then selected 'Billion....', this return a screen asking for a network passkey. Any ideas what this might be.
Any help much appreciated.
Steve

Please follow these steps to resolve your PPP issue
1. Login to the router on http://192.168.1.254
2. Use the username 'admin' and the password 'admin' to login
3. Click on 'Configuration >> WAN >> WAN Service'
4. Click on the 'Edit' button for your 'pppoa0' connection
5. Double check your username and password, this should be your broadband username and password provided by Virgin (I assume you have a normal ADSL connection from Virgin, if you are using there cable service let me know)
6. Also double check the 'Protocol' it should be PPPOA, the VPI = 0 VCI = 38, Encapsulation Mode should be VC/MUX
7. Click on 'Apply'
Regarding the wireless security key, this should be the MAC address of the unit, listed underneath the device starting with '0004'

Re: Settings for Virginmedia ADSL
Could you please tell me how to setup my DXL for Virgin Internet?
I have a Superhub which I can put in Modem Mode but I don't know how to set the WAN port correctly.
I hav seen instructions for the 7800N but not the DXL.
Many thanks
Captain

Re: Settings for Virginmedia ADSL
Sorry for the late reply, but I found out that the sign-on/password shown of my letter from VirginMedia was wrong. Got the correct details and all is working well now.
Thanks for you time

The green light : Internet light is on the router
However I still can not get access to internet. I do get a default Gateway Ipaddress as well as Primary and secondary DNS
but Line rate up and down stream = 0
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you.

Re: Settings for Virginmedia ADSL
I also have a Billion 7800DXL with Virgin Media SuperHub running in modem mode.
I found it only works if you reboot the router just before the automatic configuration part of the Billion Quickstart process.

Have you tried to reset your device back to factory default settings and then run through the quick start option?dave1892 wrote:Did you get this sorted out?
