2 PC's work with cables but not on wifi, what's failed?
I have FCC ID: B12DL01B7800NX. For a couple of years it's worked fine with two laptops and a wireless printer. Then I got the dreaded "No Internet Connection" message on my #1 machine and as I couldn't immediately sort it, I fired up my second laptop and that too was unable to make a connection. I then used a cable direct from my Wimax modem and everything is fine on BOTH laptops. Ahah ! We said. The router has failed; no apparent reason but perhaps it's the transformer, after all we've got the builders in and the power is going off and on all the time..... every other piece of equipment works perfectly though. So, I bought a new router, the shop had only a Netgear but that should be all right. But it isn't. I still have the issue on both routers on both laptops - they work with cables but not with wifi. Anybody got any ideas? A virus somewhere? Well my Avast is paid for and is current and says there are no problems. The Wimax carries not only the Internet connection but also my telephone which works perfectly and the local forum is not posting any problems.

So both the Billion router and Netgear have the same wireless issue, that is strange.ColinWB wrote:I have FCC ID: B12DL01B7800NX. I removed the new 2.3 gH cordless speakers transmitter from the desk and wifi returned as tho' nothing had ever happened. Cordless speakers to go in bin, they're not very good anyway !!! Thanks for answering.

Have you tried changing the channels ?
The speakers should have the range they operate on and using http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels you may be able to find one that doesn't overlap or conflict with other local users.
inSSIDer will show who else is in close proximity with similar or stronger RSSI values http://www.metageek.net/products/inssider/
