andruec wrote:Yeah I was misunderstanding what source/destination meant. I thought they were working like the Virtual Server does. So I thought my rules as posted in that screen shot meant map <any source>:80 to <my server>:80.
Whereas (if I understand you correctly) for incoming filters <source port> is the port that the <source> will use to receive packets, which as you say will be random. I think this is an area where the manual could be a bit more clear as it only says:
"Source Port [port or port:port]: The port or port range defines traffic from the port (specific application) or port in the set port range blocked to go through the router. Default is set port from range 1 – 65535. "
and
"Destination Port [port or port : port]: Traffic with the particular set destination port or port in the set port range is to be blocked from going through the router. Default is set port from port range: 1 – 65535 "
At the very least I think they need to be updated to say "..allow through the router.." instead of "..blocked to go through the router..". It looks like they have just been copied verbatim from the Outgoing chapter.
Anyway thank you very much for help again. Hopefully that should allow me to get everything set up when I get home tonight.
No problem mate, you should be fine from here on

Hmph. Seems like it's two things. Firstly, my rule was not configured correctly as we discussed. Now it turns out that my IPv6 address has changed. I'm investigating this now. The host address hasn't because I disabled that feature on the server but the prefix has.
Originally it was 2a02:0390:feed:6c03
At the moment it's 2a02:0390:6c03:0
Which puzzles me as it's supposed to be a static /48.

Lol! I'm beginning to hate IPv6
So I asked my ISP about my 'static' IPv6 and got this response which frankly confused me:
"On authentication your router gets an IPv4 address and the /64. Once authenticated the router then issues a DHCP6 request to get the /48. Both the /64 and /48 are static blocks to your account, it is up to your router how these are then assigned and whether the router decides to use the 2A02:390:FEED:6C03 address or one from the /48 range."
Does this mean anything to you?

Well the only thing is the /48 prefix the LAN side should obtain, we are investigating, right now
Was it the LAN side shown on the routers stats page that changed or the WAN Ipv6 address found on status > wan that changed??

It was the LAN side that changed. The router no longer lists an IPv6 address for itself which is odd but apparently has no ill-effects.
I have now set the LAN side up with a fixed address so hopefully that's all resolved. Once you know what's going on it all makes sense but the manual really didn't help and the router itself wasn't too clear. It took me a while to work out that when configuring IPv6 on the LAN I had to enter an entire IPv6 address. The error message 'invalid prefix length' wasn't very helpful.
So - good hardware but if it wasn't for you I'd have been lost. If IPv6 really is gathering pace I think you need to get your documentation team and review and improve the IPv6 side of things.

That's why I'm here, to try and help where I can, (who needs documentation when you got me lol
