The LED comes on about 90 seconds after the data starts but on etec8900ax2400_2.52.d16 and below never had the problem but it's not a real issue as you rightly said once on it stays on (apart form data indication).

I have experienced D28 to be fairly unreliable. Regular modem resets once a day and 5GHz going offline once. Gone back to D27.

I've been using d28 for the last 18 days without any issue, the only change between d27 and d28 was the open VPN feature.

There's nothing like a good router to make you a lair I have been OK for 5 Day(s) 12:16:29 now after getting disconnected twice within 10 minuets (5 Day(s) 12:16:29) being the last re-connection still on 2.52.d28

I'll check with our engineers

You must follow these steps (in a nut shell you need to disable the L2TP client and Default Gateway options before editing the server address)

1. Disable the L2TP client and 'Default Gateway' option (tick boxes)
2. Edit the 'IPsec' tunnel and enter your new server address (Remote Security Gateway) and click on 'Apply'
3. Go back to 'LT2P Client' select 'Edit' and change to the new server address (L2TP Server Address) and click on 'Edit/Delete' to apply the change
4. Tick the 'Enable' and 'Default Gateway' tick box

Tested back to back with no3.nordvpn.com and uk51.nordvpn.com working with both
Hi, I'm having the exact same issue, change the server address and it fails to reconnect, despite doing what you instructed to do above. This is with a 8900 AX 1600 R2
Try deleting your L2TP and IPsec settings, and re-enter them (also make sure the server you using support L2TP over IPsec)

pugs66 wrote: Fri Aug 10, 2018 11:24 am Yeah I did that and it worked but we shouldn't have to delete the lot just to make a change to the server address.

NordVPN supports L2PT and so forth. Reason why I changed servers is there is a considerable speed drop using VPN on the router instead of, for instance using the VPN client app on a PC, so I wanted to make sure it was their server and not the router but impossible due to this issue with changing servers on the router
Not sure, as I tested it and provided the steps I used to change the server address which worked fine.

The router will be slower then a app on PC, as the router has encrypt/decrypt all packets as well as keep functioning as a modem/router

I forgot to add, that you must disconnect the tunnel first before disabling the tunnels and making the server change (Status >>> VPN >> L2TP)

Hey Nord is working with me on.. I have been using it on d27 and its good. Although I do get speed fluctuations on its app on window pc. The graph on task bar shows speed drop of 10 to 15 mb on download. Which I don't know why. But I have read speed test results of vpn and it didn't show any loss of speed there. May be it is totally random.
