No update yet, the issue has been reported (as Broadcom are the chipset vendor we have to wait for them)gmorgan wrote:Any updates on the line attenuation fix?

Re: Unable to connect to SKY fibre
I got my 8800NL today with the intent of replacing my openreach modem and Sky SR101. I can get sync but can't seem to authenticate. I extracted my username/password and entered it in the option 61 but it never authenticates.
These are my current settings: https://www.dropbox.com/s/m1ylete4agjlv ... 8800nl.png
Should I set anything in MAC spoofing? Also, should the priority and VLAN ID be anything other than -1? I know this was mentioned previously but when I set the VLAN ID to 101, it expects the priority to be set as something. If this is the case, what should it be?
Thanks, Mike

Re: Unable to connect to SKY fibre
Ah never mind. I guessed by entering the MAC into the MAC Spoofing, selected 0 as the priority and 101 as the VLAN ID and it worked straight away

Re: Unable to connect to SKY fibre
MAC spoofing is not needed, the issue was with the priority and VLAN ID settings, as you now know the Priority = 0 and VLAN ID = 101 for other users reference when using Sky Fibrewootzuk wrote:Ah never mind. Attached is a screen shot that others can follow when using Sky Fibre with 8800NL
Steps
1. Login to the router on http://192.168.1.254
2. Use the username 'admin' and password 'admin' to login
3. Click on 'Configuration >> WAN >> WAN Service'
4. Edit the profile listed under 'PTM Interface' by clicking on 'Edit'
5. Change the 'Type' to 'IP over Ethernet'
6. Set the '802.1P Priority' to '0' and the '802.1Q VLAN ID' to 101
7. Enter your extracted username and password in the 'Option 61 Client ID' section with '|' inbetween the username and password eg username@skydsl|password
8. Click on 'Apply'

Re: Unable to connect to SKY fibre
Has anyone on Sky had any issues with using a non Sky router? Apparently it's against the T's & C's of the service

Re: Unable to connect to SKY fibre
Been using the 8800 with Sky Fibre 40/10 for few days and so far so good although I had to request a DLM reset as in initial testing period the line dropped from 27Mbps to 18Mbps. BT came around and found a fault which has been fixed and then connected right away to 39Mbps which has now decreased to almost 36Mbps as DLM is still in testing phase.
Hopefully I wont get any lower synch although I should expect according to BT Calculation a maximum of 31Mbps.
Not sure whether Sky will bother into checking Option 60 (Vendor Information) as I have not bothered entering this parameter as it connects anyway just by entering you authentication details in Option 61 as <billion_fan> kindly provided ( you made me happy!!) but at least I won't try until testing period will end in a few more days.
So far I had no calls from Sky advising I changed my router over, not sure if they would or will take any action as I used my own previous router with their previous ADSL2+ service.
I am very happy so far on overall performance and capability of the 8800nl, wireless range has been far better than my previous Belkin router and can now stream HD content from my wireless devices (No drops or buffering)
Considering what this little fella offers I would say that is quiet a bargain considering it's price.

Re: Unable to connect to SKY fibre
ok - I just answered my own question, I need to use the credentials from my latest sky superhub, not my old ones from the original Netgear OEM unit of 10 years ago.
