As you're on Orange - which is managed by BT anyway - then I think that you will switch over automatically.

You'll probably get an email from Orange telling you that they're improving your service etc.

I doubt you'll get more speed as you get nowhere near 8meg but what speed you have should be more consistent, less congestion at peak times etc.

Make sure the 7800N allows for ADSL2 & ADSL2+ in the ADSL mode screen.
