yes it is a HH5 B with broadcom chip set. same as Billion but seems to get a better speed.
Pity as spent over 100 quid on Billion and get better speed on free router from BT.
Maybe one day Billion will fix the EPP problem (end user poor performance).
Who knows

Phillip :(
My homehub 5 is arriving today I really hope its a type B tho. Free of charge of course as my Type A went faulty ;) After I plug it in ill post the stats here and see if there is a problem with the billion products.

No issues here, running 2.32e

Well After 11 days no drops at 66mb and line not changed Stable and the same since day 1.went back to HH 5 and bang 70Mbs which will go back to 70 to 72mb
So think Stats speak for themselves. Pity as I always great results from my other Billions, they blew the socks off other routers.
Maybe when they get next Firmware upgrade it maybe better.

Just looking at all the stats and it would seem if your Attention is over 15 to 16db then speed falls off rapidly where as HH5 does not.
Is that not what Broadcom chips were famous for poorer quality lines. The Broadcom in the HH5 seems to cope better. So all maybe down to the firmware
being to conservative and just reducing speed to much to quickly.
Maybe need to get Billion to test out on Att over 20db and turn the wick up a bit!! :)

Yes was about to say they guys have low attenuation, hence they have a much higher speed. Where as ours are quite high we need every last mb we can get.
And the replacement homehub 5 I got was a type A :(
I have ordered a Type B from eBay this time tho. Ill post the stats from it when I receive it. The Type A homehub is that bad it wont even connect as G.INP is enabled on my line. Its even running the latest firmware and is still incompatible haha

Unfortunately for me the Home Hub 5 Type B was unable to give me any more sync speed from my line, and in fact the Billion 8800nl gives me a better sync speed in my case anyway.
