I know this may but a massive coincidence but look at these logs I lose connection around the same time every 2 days:

Sep 4 05:20:59 kern warn kernel: HOST XTM tx ch 0 disabled.
Sep 4 05:20:59 kern warn kernel: bcmxtmcfg: Connection DOWN, LinkActiveStatus=0x0

Sep 6 04:30:57 kern warn kernel: HOST XTM tx ch 0 disabled.
Sep 6 04:30:57 kern warn kernel: bcmxtmcfg: Connection DOWN, LinkActiveStatus=0x0

Sep 8 04:41:09 kern warn kernel: HOST XTM tx ch 0 disabled.
Sep 8 04:41:09 kern warn kernel: bcmxtmcfg: Connection DOWN, LinkActiveStatus=0x0

This reminds me the time I was with BE internet (ADSL as opposed to fibre) if you didn’t have a BE box and used your own router which was allowed the connection was lost once a day and some clever person discovered that it was BE sending something down the line for the BE boxes but this upset non BE boxes if I remember correctly it was an option required in non BE boxes to have “Force broadcast ARP on the wan link” this when ticked made you're router immune to the problem so a third party firmware was written which I flashed to me Netgear router and no more disconnections.
The point I'm making here is does anyone no if TalkTalk do any strange things, on saying that with the v32 Billion firmware it went for 5 or 6 days before a disconnection and the times were very random in any day.

Well I decided to try V32 again because I was convinced it was the best firmware and I was right:
Connection Time 3 Day(s) 00:11:36
I never reached 3 days on V36 I also get a better download speed on V32, the mystery thickens.

UPDATE
Connection Time 4 Day(s) 00:22:09
Last Update
Connection Time 6 Day(s) 00:03:4
V32 is the most stable to date lets hope the new firmware will be as good, as V36 is no good for me.

Firmware should be released next week, with release notes (2.52.d3)

Attached is a screen grab I captured this morning (testing is going great with 9 days up time)

I'm looking forward to trying it v32 the maximum run time is about 6 days never makes 7 days for some reason.

Also had some strange things happening on the 5ghz band my iPhone loses connection when it’s on standby, I thought it was the phone because of the recent iso 10.0.2 update, but disabling 5ghz (and apply) and then enabling again (and apply) in the Billion made 5ghz signal disappear altogether even though the LED was on, so I rebooted the Billion and it returned and the phone problem is also fine now.

Ive had a similar problem with the 5ghz band on v36, never had a problem on v32 tho.

When I updated from v32 to v36 everything was fine for about 10 days, then all of a sudden nothing would connect to the 5ghz band, and when
you searched for it it didnt show, the led was off on the router but the band was switched on when you went into the router settings, Rebooted
the router and its been fine for the past 24 days.

I dont have any issues etc with connection dropping its been fine, one thing everyone here seems to have problems with on anything apple is
videos whether its on facebook or youtube or film trailers on imdb take ages to start playing, im talking 30 seconds or more, same thing
on the 4 PCs in the house and its instant playback???

Doesnt matter if its macbook, iPhone, iPad or iPod its the same, if I go back to the Sky router they play straight away :?

No problem here, I tested both firmwares v32 (virgin 200mbps) and d3 (BT 80mbps) both working fine with my mac book pro connected to the 5ghz band, using safari, I click on the video and they stream straight away. (tested with youtube)

I just ran a quick test on my brothers iPhone 6s + and videos load fine, one thing to make sure your wireless settings are set to WPA2 with "WPA/WAPI Encryption" set to AES

It happened today again so I have put a Japanese router in AP mode using the 8900 and the iPhone works fine now, so I will see what happens when the new firmware comes out.
Another strange thing is when you're in the 8900 interface and play with any 5Ghz settings it takes ages for it to respond, after hitting apply, have you had a similar experience. If you really want to upset the 8900 choose a manual channel say 64 and then move it to another channel do that more then twice and the signal will disappear it will only come back by a restart.
I must say the most reliable router in the world has got to be the good old 7800DXL, with an open reach modem I have had 4 months with no down time.
I think the 8900 looks smarter and Billion do work hard to put things right and it isn’t easy hardware and software has got too be spot on and it isn’t easy and everyone’s situation being different, ISP’s and the dreaded long phone line.
