1. Set the IGMP Snooping Mode to 'Blocking Mode' (normal default settings)
2. Click on 'Interface Grouping'
3. Click on 'Add'
4. Under 'Available WAN Interfaces' move both WAN's to the left hand box so both WAN's should be listed 'Grouped WAN Interfaces'
5. Under 'Available LAN Interfaces' select the port your you view box/BT Vision is attached to, and move it to the left so it is listed under 'Grouped LAN Interfaces'
6. Enter a 'Group Name' eg 'IPTV'
7. Click on 'Apply'
8. Click on 'Configuration >> LAN'
9. Change the 'Group Name' to 'IPTV'
10. Change the 'IGMP Snooping Mode' to 'Standard Mode'
11. Click on 'Apply'
12. Restart your you view box
Hi again,

I have gone through the steps however when I rebooted the router it wouldn't connect to the ip channels. Once I removed the rule bt sport came back up without an issue.

Any ideas as to why?
Try re-applying steps 9-12, also make sure you have 'Bridged WAN Interface' etc setup also

Also attached is config file I made (This is for the Bipac 8800NL 2.32e ONLY for VDSL/FTTC), with everything setup, you might need to change WAN PPPOE username and password to get online, and obviously change the wifi password. (as this config was built off default settings)

With this config, your BT Vision box should connect to PORT 4
Hi,

Looking over it looks like i may have missed point 9 but due to i couldn't find where to change the name as it was already set to IPTV as per point 6

On the 'Configuration >> LAN' page for the 'Group Name' option you should have two groups options from the drop down menu, 'Default' and 'IPTV'

Group Name - Default = IGMP Snooping Mode to 'Blocking Mode'
Group Name - IPTV = IGMP Snooping Mode to 'Standard Mode'

I noticed when I added the new LAN group for BTTV, its assigned a new subnet of 192.168.2.x I guess this is normal so that the LAN groups are separated.

I have not tried the Billion yet with my Infinity connection, will connect it up next week and let you know how I get on.

That's right when isolating it, it will use a DHCP range, but will work

nickaminsky wrote:Hi, I'd be interested on how you got on with this as I'm thinking of switching from a HH5 (Type B) back to my Billion for my new fibre install. I've pre-configured the Billion according to the BTTV info on the increasebroadbandspeed website, but was not aware of this particular issue.

Hi Nickaminsky,

I have just configured and can confirm this works great!

Hi. I can also confirm this works fine for me too. I decided to switch back to the 8800NL because the HH5 (type B) was dropping the VDSL connection every few hours.

One strange thing I found was that I was having problems with certain devices connecting over WIFI (eg. panasonic TV, Nexus 10) until I unchecked Wireless Multicast Forwarding (WMF). The Nexus 10 now seems ok. I will test Netflix via the TV today just to be sure. I did not have this issue with the 8800NL on ADSL (with WMF unchecked).

If you isolate the port that your BT Vision box connects to, you don't need to enable WMF

Been having some funny behaviour I think down to DHCP. eg Nexus 10 not connecting to wifi and home plug connected devices dropping at the same time in the evening.

So i've set the BTTV box to have static IP configuration and disabled DHCP on the BTTV LAN group. Since the BT box is the only device on the LAN group I figured it was the best thing to do.

Not sure why the issues. I also noticed that my PC would complain its address was already in use when waking from sleep and also came up with the same message when I powered on the BTTV box. A bug with DHCP over LAN groups maybe?

Not sure as I have never seen this issue before, best to check the DHCP table if the issue occurs again,
