Yes I ticked default, and enabled it. But did not check the Status page...rolls eyes... DOH! I IP'd myself, and the IP stayed the same, it did not differ from my regular IP.

I will try it again, but check the status page this time...

Cheers.

Hi again.

I did as you said, and checked the status page. I clicked connect, but it does nothing...

What else should I be doing here?

Thanks.

You need to check the system log to see why the PPTP connection is not connecting.

First disable the tunnel, then edit the tunnel and make sure the 'Auth. Type' is set to 'MS-CHAPv2', once set click on 'Edit/Delete' to apply the change, and then re-enable the tunnel again

Right, there was limited success following your advice.

Yes, it connected once I changed Auth. Type to MS-CHAPv2. However, on trying to open a web page I got nothing but a hang. No page, no loading? When I disconnected everything went back to normal and the webpage loaded.

Any thoughts?

Forgot to add you will need to change your DNS server to '8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4' (Advanced Setup >> DNS >> DNS select 'Use the following Static DNS IP address')

However, why is it that my speed decreases from 75 to 3/4 mbps when I connect to the VPN via the router. But if I connect to the VPN via Network Preferences (Mac), I get 65mbps. Same server etc.
