Follow the attached guide to setup a static IP on your windows machine.

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/19249/ho ... windows-7/

The settings you should use are

IP Address - 192.168.1.203
Subnet - 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway - not needed
DNS - not needed

(these changes will be reverted back later so you can browse the internet)

Then login to the Bipac 3100SN using the IP address http://192.168.1.253

1. Click on 'Wireless Settings >> Basic'
2. Change the SSID1 if needed and click on 'Apply'
3. Click on 'Security' on the left hand side
4. Change the 'Security Mode' to match the security settings on your 7800DXL
5. Type the same password as set to your 7800DXL in the 3100SN in the 'WPA Shared Key/Pre-shared Key' section and click on 'Apply'
6. Click on 'AP Client'
7. Select the wireless signal from your 7800DXL
8. Type your password at the bottom of the page
9. Click on 'Apply'
10. Change the IP address of your computers LAN card back to 'Obtain A IP Address Automatically' and 'Obtain a DNS Server Automatically'
11. Wait for your computer to obtain a IP address
12. Browse the internet
13. If all is working, you can deploy the unit

I hope this helps :D

I'm having such woe doing this! I've set up wireless bridges before (like 8 years+ ago) and remember just having to tell the bridge to look for the router as its "source" and then that was that! This is impossible! I've tried setting the 3100SN up with the same SSID and passphrase as the network I'm trying to extend, then selected the correct AP in the AP set up area and entered the passphrase. But it doesn't seem to work!

Is there an idiots guide to this anywhere??

I am having issues with this unit. I tried doing a reset. I connected the unit directly to the computer set up a static IP on my computer as earlier instructions but could not open http://192.168.1.253. I got the following on one occasion:

Recovery Code

Bootrom Version: 1.09

Reset to factory default settings
Keep current settings

Enter the path and name of the upgrade file then click the START button below. You will be prompted to confirm the upgrade. The device will be successfully upgraded when the System LED stops blinking.

I tried both options but both required me to browse for a file

How to I access the config page

After many attempts I finally managed to access the config page and set up the 3100SN. How can I be sure it is working correctly?

Try and ping the 3100SN from a device connected to the main router, make sure the 3100SN is on the same subnet
