Hi,

I really love the billion routers for their solid ADSL performance and have owned the trusted 7800N, used the 8800NL R2 and will soon be receiving the 8900AXL 1600 R2.

What really is annoying is the user interface. Is there a reason why Billion try to make it as un-user friendly as possible? Surely it doesn't cost much to make it a bit user-friendly? To me things have actually got worse from the 7800N to 8800NL R2.

Are there any plans to make changes and improve this in the future?

I'm trying to think of who does a better job. Linksys is the only brand that comes to mind. Unfortunately the hardware is not as good. They are too focussed on chasing the big wireless ac numbers versus delivering a high-performance modem/router combination. I have literally used them all and the 8900-2400ac is the best combination. I have Macs that cannot benefit for the ac performance these products advertise. Come to think of it, what product can? I do agree with your point and why should we have to compromise, but when it comes to routers, I've reached the conclusion that I'm happy to take a visually basic interface for a set of hardware that is performant and robust.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying the other brands are great when it comes to this.

I just think some explanation within the GUI would be great. I get frustrated with the parental control whereby you have to set the time to restrict access rather that allow. i.e. to allow someone to only access internet from 15.00 to 19.00 you have to have 2 'access restriction' entries:

19.00 to 23.59 and
00.00 to 14.59

Surely the 'allow access' method would be easier?

I found the Asus DSL-AC68U interface to be extremely user friendly, shame about the MediaTek chipset they used though.

Billion has always been my go to option for reliable connection.
