SNMP query response time

Hi Folks,
Back when I was using the 7800N I could poll SNMP data quickly, the router responded pretty fast and could be queried multiple times per second if required. Since moving to the 8800NL R2 and the 8900AX-2400 I've noticed they are both quite slow to respond, I haven't specifically timed it but a poll can take 500ms, maybe even as long as 1 or 2 seconds to get a response.
Is this by design / intentional, or something that could be changed or resolved?
Thanks very much

Just got a reply from our engineers, they stated as the code base is different you will get different timing when you poll the device, this cannot not be sped up

Understood, no problem. Thank you for taking the time to check!
