Port throttling

Hi,
Got a bandwidth hog on on of the ports, port 2, to be precise, can i "throttle/limit" this user?

Yes via IP address, assuming you know the MAC address of the client, I would first setup a 'Static IP Lease List' under 'Configuration >> LAN >> Static IP Lease List (found in the middle of the page) and give this user a static IP address from the router outside the DHCP range, this is so every time the client connects to the router his IP address will be the same.

Then setup a QOS rule to limit is internet speeds (attached is QOS example you probably need to set two rules in both Directions WAN to LAN and LAN to WAN leave the protocol on 'Any'

Ps; can y please advise further, re ip addy outside dhcp, so i have dhcp at 198.168.1.100 to 199 the lan ip is 198.168.1.254 what ip should i put in, when i put an ip outside the dhcp i get "the ip must be on the same subnet as the router" i have tried 198.168.1.198 & 198.168.1.254 sorry if this this is such a newbie question, but as much as i think i know, his is over my limited skill level. Thanks in advance.

Use IP address 192.168.1.200, once the client restarts his computer he will always get this IP address, then follow the attached screen shot to setup a QOS rule for this IP address
