Hi,

I've had a couple of random reboots this week and managed to catch on with syslog last night at 00.40.26. There doesn't appear to be anything unusual occurring, with the line at 00.40.25 stating: TELNET login success, user ip 192.168.1.205. Then the next line in the log has a time stamp of Jan 1 00.00.46 and states: eth0 (Ext switch port: 1) (Logical port: 9) Link up 1000 mbps full duplex.

There wasn't a power cut as all my smart lights would have been on when I got up this morning.

I'm using FW v2.52 dtest

Can you try loading the official firmware, as you are on a beta firmware there might be some bugs.

If you still have issues please let me know, with added syslog, and I will check with our engineers (make sure your logging/display level is set to 'Debugging' within the 8800AXL, and if you are not using IPv6 please disable it on the WAN and under 'IPv6 Autoconfig' (DHCPv6 Server and Issue Router Advertisements)

This isn't the first time it's done this but on the whole, it's been pretty rock solid. I'll install the current prod FW release this weekend and monitor. I have to make a new DSL cable anyway so I'd planned for some down time.

I've not had the chance to downgrade the FW or change the modem cable yet but I noted there were: 'radvd[1881]: received RA from fe80::6203:47ff:****:****' entries in the syslog before each reboot. This is the IPV6 address of the Billion. So I've disabled the IPV6 settings and will monitor.
Other suggestions around the web are to disable the Power Management settings and I'll try that if the IPV6 changes don't have any effect.

Well the IPv6 changes didn't change anything. I got a reboot a couple of hours after making the changes.

I've left the IPv6 changes as they were, as they're of no benefit to me and disabled all the power management options. Will continue to monitor.

Hopefully once we get the issue resolved with the 8800NLR2 we can get the same fix for the 8800AXL R2, I will check with our engineers once they resolve the 8800NL R2 reboot issue

Excellent and thank you for your ongoing support on this.

Just by way of an update, the changes to the power management settings had no effect. I've had another random reboot 4 hours ago. There's nothing to indicate an issue on the syslog either.

I'll make an effort to get the current production FW back on it at the weekend and continue to monitor.

just to add to this - I've noticed my AXL R2 rebooting over the last few weeks. My ADSL sync speed is getting less & less (I assume due to the reboots & line drops).

Before checking here, I swapped the PSU brick, reset the router to defaults etc etc. Hasn't helped.

We are debugging a similar issue with the 8800NL R2 once we have a fix, I will check with our engineers if the same fix can be implemented onto the 8800AXL R2, I will post a firmware here, once I have one

Just to keep this log up to date.

I reverted the FW to 2.52.d10 on Sunday. I reset the gateway prior to uploading the FW and reset it again after too. I also used a newly made DSL cable and it's wired into the test socket of the NTE socket.

I noted that Attn has reduced by 0.5dB from 22.7dB to 22.2dB. I usually see this fluctuate by 0.1 - 0.2dB between re-syncs but not by this degree. I also note that the downstream SNRM is more stable now. I think both ofthese things are more to do with the cable than the FW change.

As I type, the gateway has been up and synced for: 1D 23H 40M. I'll continue to monitor with DSLStats, BQM and syslog.
