Can bridge mode still resolve external DNS?

I am using my Bipac 7800n in bridge mode for various reasons but I am apparently accepting external DNS requests. In bridge mode does the router do anything other than acting as a bridge or could it be the Bipac that is the culprit?

What IP address is getting recursive dns requests?
As the 7800N is working in bridge mode, it does not have a WAN IP address, the device that is connected to the 7800N working as broadband router will acquire your WAN IP, this device needs to block recursive dns requests.

i figured this out - I am using a Mikrotik router and had a firewall to block all external requests on port 53 but it was still accepting requests until I set the config differently.
