PPPoE and Then Ethernetting a Connection

I have a G.Fast setup running through the EWan Ethernet Port from a TP Link OpenReach Modem.
I wanted to hardwire into the router using another Ethernet cable and noticed that I am not getting anything. Wifi works fine and the PPPoE session is connected, but hardwiring to the web is dead.
I'm not entirely sure the above makes sense to anyone but me, I just wanted to check out a hardwired connection compared the 5GHz wifi.
What settings if any, do I need to configure.
Many thanks.

So your setup is TP-Link open reach modem >>> 8900 series, if I am correct can you answer the following questions
1. What IP address does your PC obtain from the 8900 when a hard wired connection is connected?
2. I assume the LAN LED on the front of the router lights up when your PC is connected?

It's the 8900 Series...
1. No IP address is assigned although I have a fixed IP address waiting for it...
2. Yes there is a green light.

Can you try a reboot of the router to see if the DHCP server will kick in.
Also if you can login to the router (via a wireless connection) and make sure the DHCP server is enabled

Hiya,
A reboot did nothing and the DHCP server is enabled...

Just noticed from your first screen shot, the Ethernet connection is coming as unplugged.
If you have another PC with a Ethernet connection try using that

Ahh ha... I tried with a different dongle into the MBP and it worked. Appears the dongle is at fault.
Thanks for the support. Much appreciated.

One final unrelated question...
Is 2.52.d2 still the latest firmware for the 8900AX R2 device?
Thanks.
