DSL Fail after power cycle

Just got a new 7800N a few days ago. Successfully connected to (BT) broadband. Configured fw, time schedules, etc and was running perfectly.

Last night I needed to move the box, so I powered it off using the rear power switch.
When the box came back up there were no DSL or Internet lights on. Checked all the config etc which looked OK, reconnected line to old router and DSL connection was still fine.
Eventually I decided to do a factory reset and the DSL light lit up straight away! Does anyone have any advice or idea what's going on, or whether this is a common/known problem as I have seen a couple of other reports online of similar DSL loss following restart? I have now taken a backup but am somewhat wary of turning off in the future.

Cheers

I have seen this issue, normally a factory reset resolves it, and the issue will not pop its ugly head up again (from past experience with other customers)

Two days later and it's happened again.

I added another static IP setting, then noticed that DHCP had stopped assigning addresses to any device, and the DHCP table was empty.
After checking that DHCP was still on I decided to try restarting the router to see if that fixed the DHCP problem. When it came back up the DSL and Internet lights were off, and I was not able to access the management page or telnet to the device.
So, reset to factory defaults again and the lights are back on.

I shouldn't have to do a [config backup/factory reset/restore config] every time I need to change a setting should I?

First make sure you upgrade to firmware 1.06h.dt2, this should resolve your blank DHCP table

Then reset the device and manually reconfigure the device, finally make a new back up of your config file and that should be it.

I have seen some other customers that had this issue, and once they restored there config file, the DSL light went out and never blinked, once reset again DSL was back, so it points to a corrupt config file.

Thanks for the help, I have upgraded the firmware and all seems good so far.
