Having a few technical problems with my broadband at the minute and was interested in the Android Tethering in the latest firmware. Has anybody got it to work. I connected my phone to the 7800DXL, waited as per the release notes then turned on USB tethering. It's very hit and miss. It has worked for a few minutes on one occasion but seems to cause the router to reboot most of the time.

What was the model of the device DX/VDOX/DXL???

Did you perform a factory reset after the firmware upgrade?

Hi. It's the 7800DXL. Yep - flashed then did a factory reset.

It's a Nexus 5

UPDATE

Just ran a quick test with a samsung note 3 and everything works fine (sorry I don't have a Nexus 5 so cannot test, but I assume they work the same as they use android)

See the attached screen grabs, also try and make sure your device don't go into power saving mode on the nexus (might help, worth a try) and disable failover on WAN page of the 7800DXL

I am using my samsung note 3 connected to a 7800dxl to write this post and upload the attahced images and seems to work well

OK thanks. Tethering on the phone works fine - I'm tethered to this laptop at the minute.

Ok, seems to be working this time. Hasn't rebooted the router. Only setting that was different on mine was failover which is now off.
Getting pretty good speeds too - 16Mbps down.
I'll let it run for a while and see what happens.
