So I came home and found one of the antenna dislodged from the router
Probably one of the kids but hey ho. Where is the best place I can purchase a replacement? Also - is now the ideal time to purchase a stronger antenna? and if I do - I guess i'll have to replace all 3?

I've very recently (3 days ago) installed a 7800N and have fitted it with two "high-gain" omnidirectional (vertical) antennas that I've had for several years and used previously with Draytek routers - the third antenna fitted to the 7800N is one of the supplied originals. The WiFi signal seems to be fine throughout the house.
I think my "high-gain" antennas are Draytek units; I see that Draytek currently sell a 5dBi antenna that's 196mm high, which is about the size of mine. There are plenty of other suppliers of "high-gain" WiFi antennas, though - a quick look on Amazon revealed loads, including a 9.5dBi omni antenna that's about 450mm tall.
There shouldn't be any need to fit three identical antennas to your router - in principle there's no reason why you couldn't connect a directional antenna such as a Yagi to one of the three ports on a 7800N, if you wanted to have a spot beam aimed at one particular part of your premises. However, one thing to bear in mind is that the coax cable that connects a physically-large antenna such as a Yagi to the SMA connector on the router needs to be kept as short as possible - at 2.4GHz the losses in the coax will be significant and will reduce the overall gain achievable when using a directional antenna.

i emailed customer support asking if there were any places I could purchase a replacement antenna from. They sent me one out free of charge and I received it the next day. Wow - absolutely fantastic customer service. Hats off to them.
