Port Forwarding

Post by NigelS »

Can someone jog my memory on where to set port forwarding (Virtual Server) is on the 7800DXL (f/w 2.23d) as I'm having difficulty finding the option since doing the latest f/w update.

Thx

Configuration -> NAT -> Virtual servers.

It will be interesting to see if you can get it to work, as i don't think that any ports are being forwarded.

It seems to have worked OK for me.

I have managed to setup external streaming of media from my Plex Server at home, onto my mobile tablet (on '3' network data connection) whilst out on the road.

I was using uPNP to do this job, but as I reported elsewhere in another topic I was having problems periodically with uPNP on my Billion Router.
Plex would work fine for weeks then suddenly just not be able to connect through the router unless I disabled uPNP and then re-enabled it.
Hopefully now it is manually set this will continue to work going forward.

Mine now works too! it was because my dynamic IP hadn't been updated.

Hi.

I'm new to the Billion router owners family and am on the look out for any information that will help with regard to port forwarding for my Plex Media Server.

I've entered the same port numbers that I had set in my old BTHH3 into a Virtual Server but at the moment am unable to see my server once outside my home network.

Any links/options/experiences would be appreciated.

Cheers :)

Are you using a EWAN connection or ADSL connection??

Can you post a screen shot of the rules you have added?

Hi BF and in truth I wasn't expecting such a high speed response (shame on me I know  ) and as such am at work so can only say that I'm connected via EWAN.

I'll post the rules page I've got once I get home this evening. ;)

That's fine, make sure under your Virtual Server page that the 'Interface' is selected as your EWAN connection not PPPOA

I'm hoping you've already hit the nail on the head, as if the default is PPPOA then I didn't change it.
