Hello all,

I've been reading through all the posts and guides on getting a Billion 7800n router to replace a SR101 connected to open reach fibre.
The only thing i couldn't find or understand was about the ewan connection.. The guide on here doesn't match to peoples opinions. So i was hoping that someone could help clear this up for me.
Do I connect the Ethernet from the open reach to the 7800n to port labeled ewan?
If so, i get the port protocol needs to be selected as ewan also?, in the guides it shows as being ADSL.

I've got the correct user info from running wireshark, so have input that as per the guide, and still get no internet connection.
Im currently runing the latest firmware on the 7800n and can confirm that the SR101 is on Mer authentication.

fyi : this was the guide i used when connected to port 1 rather that ewan..

Login to 7800N via Http.
Upgrade the beta firmware ('Related Link' at the top of this article)
Restart to the Factory Default Settings
Please choose the protocol as MPoA (RFC1483/RFC2684, Multiprotocol Encapsulation over AAL5)
Please enter VCI / VPI as 0/40
Please input the client ID as username and password separate with "|" e.g. username|password

When i switch to the ewan port and select ewan protocol i don't get these options.

I would really appreciate any help with this.
