7800N- Plusnet Fibre - Connected but no Internet

Afternoon,

I hope you guys can help as I've got myself totally confused. I'm on Plusnet FTTC with a static IP. Currently using the Technicolor Gateway, which has actually been surprisingly stable and decent wifi.

I'm having DNS issues a single Windows 8.1 machine and think a recent firmware update on the TC may be the culprit. Though it does seem to be a known bug with MS too.

I thought i would try to use my 7800N in place of the Technicolor. I followed the instructions online here and think i have got a PPPoE connection and IP address. I left all the connection settings as default.

The problem is i get no internet. When i use the ping tool on the router i get no response either.

Any ideas? Many thanks in advance for taking the time to read this and any responses given.

Run through the quick start option again, and make sure you set the routers WAN to EWAN (port 5 to your open reach modem) and set the 'Protocol' to 'PPPOE' enter the username and password in the sections provided, and untick 'Obtain DNS Servers automatically' and enter 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
