7800n DNSOMATIC Update Isuue

Hi All

I was wondering if someone could help me out with setting up DNSOMATIC when using 7800n in EWAN mode. I have setup the username and password for DNSOMATIC on the 7800n but it fails to update the IP address.

My 7800n is currently connected via EWAN port to HG612 modem since I have fibre optic connection.

Previously when I had ADSL and my 7800n was directly connected to the telephone line (via del port) I have no issues with the DNSOMATIC updates.

I am assuming the issue now is that since 7800n is getting the LAN ip from HG612 rather than the WAN ip therefore it is failing to update it on DNSOMATIC.

Any ideas?

The HG612, is the open reach modem, so you should be getting a WAN IP assigned to your 7800N, can you double check it to see if the WAN IP is a 192.168.x.x address or external address eg 78.xxx.xxx.xxx?

PAsting log file DNS updates. As you can see it is trying to update the 192.168.x.x address. How can I get it to update the proper IP address?
BTW My firmware is 1.06h

You need to make sure the WAN IP is passed over the 7800N otherwise your DDNS update will not work, the HG612 is a open reach modem only, so it should assign you with a WAN IP address, when the 7800N is setup in EWAN PPPOE mode.

Can you confirm you have a open reach modem??
