adsl: ADSL driver and PHY status
Status: Showtime
Retrain Reason: 0
Max: Upstream rate = 1256 Kbps, Downstream rate = 22656 Kbps
Path: 0, Upstream rate = 1022 Kbps, Downstream rate = 19887 Kbps

Can anyone explain the above Max rate. At what SNR would I achieve this rate. Using the Billion SNR tweaking page I am currently running at an SNR of 1.5-2.0db. Cant understand how I can achieve the above Max rate without going under 0db.

Those max rates are based on your attenuation , not what your ISP will give. So if you're on an upto 20meg service then that's all you'll get.

I'm not really sure that's the answer as mine will vary according to what it syncs at and sometimes my sync speeds have been greater than the max, but generally speaking, my sync speed will be about 85% of the max.
