Hi

Is it possible to get this combination to work? I've entered the username/password selected EWAN, PPPOE etc., but I cannot connect.

I am definitely on MER, but I read the 7800N supports MER - anyone got this working or can offer any advice?

Thanks
Peter

Nobody so far has been able to keep a MER connection for more than a few minutes according to the SkyUser forum, most can't even get that far.

It seems that Sky's implementation of MER is not quite standard which will be a PITA when they drop PPoA.

How will Sky be able to "drop PPOA"? They would be losing a massive percentage of their usersbase.

Fibre installs only cover a small proportion of homes and many exchanges only have cabinets for part of a town.

Most new connections use MER and they're rolling out firmware updates to the older Netgear routers & switching them to MER. Happened to my son over the past couple of weeks.

I'm talking about the normal ADSL connections here btw.

Ah, the subject of the thread was Sky Fibre ....... I assumed this was something to do with FTTC/FTTP.

Most new Sky connections or are we talking other ISP's as well? Sounds like they just want to keep users on the Sky routers. I wouldn't have their products or services in the house.
