My village cabinet is about to be FTTC enabled.
I have a 7800n on latest firmware.
I am not with BT I am with or rather will be using iDnet
do i plug it straight in and use PPOE and user/password provided or do i need another bit of kit?

Thanks for all advice

You need a VDSL modem in front of the 7800N, the modem will then connect to the EWAN port on the 7800N, and then you configure the 7800N for a EWAN connection PPPOE

I changed from copper to fibre a year or more ago after my local cabinet was upgraded.
An Openreach engineer turned up and fitted a BT modem and checked the line for connection to the exchange. He also let me know the sync rate I could expect.
I then plugged my 7800n into the modem and logged into it. Entered username and password supplied by my ISP (Plusnet) and Bobs your Uncle.
