Apart from the Be settings is there anything else I can enable on the 7800n to ensure a better connection over my line in the ADSL Mode screen, I live quite far away from the exchange on an old line which is why I was recommended and bought the 7800n I was just hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Can you post your ADSL status page so we can see your SNR readings and advise further

On a long line like yours then generally a better connection would be achieved using ADSL , not ADSL2 or 2+.
You might be able to get this by disabling all the modes apart from G.Dmt. You might though need your ISP to make this switch.
Not sure what this might do to your upstream though.

hi knowlesy
Not really played around on long lines (60.5db Line Attenuation) you can always try a SNR tweak from looking at your SNR reading try the following, also make sure your 7800N is not running on a extension phone/adsl cable
(WARNING Please be aware that making changes on this page may cause instability)
1. Login to the router configuration page
2. Type the address bar
http://192.168.1.254/snr.html
3. Set the SNR to 75
4. Click on 'Apply' the ADSL line will now drop sync
5. Once resynced check your ADSL status page again and check for a increased downstream speed (old speed 3915)
If the ADSL light does not come on solid go back to
http://192.168.1.254/snr.html and set the SNR back to -1 (default setting)
If you notice instability (ADSL light flashing) keep raising your SNR by 5 until you get a stable connection (this is to ensure that you get the max connection out of your line)
I hope this helps
