New AC DSL combo modem/routers??

At the end of last year it was mentioned that there would be a new range of xDSL combo units (8900 series) released in Q1 of 2015. I then heard on here a few months ago that there was now no ETA for release.
I did find on whirlpool forums that they expect Q2 2015 (
http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2341185). Any one heard anything different?

Oh well. That's unfortunate. Do you think it will be out this year at least?

Hmm that doesn't sound to promising at all. I may have to look at other options if that is the case.

I know the device is coming out, but I just don't have a time scale for release

Tell them to hurry up )) Need a new modem / router and AC with external aerials.
Can't wait too much longer, it's been over a year now.

I ended up buying a Netgear D6400 and an Asus DSL-AC68U.
The Netgear modem was solid and had good range however the throughput dropped off rapidly as you moved away. It was returned to the supplier.
The Asus I got off eBay. As has been documented by loads of places, The modem/firmware is pretty terrible so it is currently being used as an access point connected into my trusty HG612.
