Billion 8800 Series with Vodafone Sure Signal

Hi,
I would be interested in any experiences in setting up and running a Vodafone Sure Signal (3G Femto gateway, either 2nd or 3rd generation), with a Billion router 8800 series on VDSL ? (maybe even 7800)
At start up, the Sure Signal establishes an outbound IPSEC VPN connection to a remote host.
This requires a number of port mappings or the use of uPNP to support connectivity.
I've had some challenges in getting this working with some routers / firmware revisions and would welcome your views.
Thanks.

Your sure signal device should work with the stock firmware, and there is no need to enter any port forwarding rules etc.

I would like to replace my BT Openreach, Huawei HG612 VDSL modem with a Billion 8800nl (running in bridge mode).
I have the following configuration at present: Vodafone Suresignal (3G Femto) >> Netgear R7000 Router >> BT HG612 Modem (connects / functions as as expected).
When I replace the Huawei HG612 with the Billion 8800nl (running in Bridge mode), my Vodafone Suresignal no longer connects to the Vodafone servers.
All other services which require internet connectivity, work as expected when using the Billion 8800nl as a modem instead of the Huawei HG612.
I have tried different variations of firmware on the Billion 8800nl with the same result, the Vodafone Sure Signal does not connect when using the Billion in Bridge mode.
I would welcome ANY suggestions ? Are there any additional settings which I need to configure on the Billion 8800nl (in addition to settings enabling Bridge mode only) to get the the Vodafone Sure Signal to connect ?
Thank you !!

Very strange, as the 8800NL is working as a dumb modem, so WAN IP is passed over to the Netgear device
What firmware version are you on??

Hi billion_fan,
Thank you for your note.
I've tried / tested using the following firmware on the 8800nl:
- 2.32d.dm12 (shipped with the device)
- 2.32d.dh14
- 2.32e
Very strange indeed.
When the Vodafone Sure Signal starts up, it takes about 10 seconds to establish a IPSEC VPN tunnel to a remote host, this failing when using the 8800nl in Bridge Mode.
I have had a look at the BT Openreach modem's configuration to see whether there are any similarities, nothing that I can see which relates to the device operating in Bridge mode.

If you are still on 2.32e try the following
Login to the device (8800NL), click on 'Configuration >> NAT >> ALG' and disable 'IPsec' as shown on the attached screen shot

Disabled IPSEC (under NAT >> ALG) ... Sure Signal still does not connect (time out in 10 seconds).
