7800N and BT Infinity

I am reluctantly leaving my ISP (Be) and going over to BT Infinity.
I want to keep using my 7800N and wondered what extra I need to interface with the fibre input.
What would be a good choice for that, and would the BT Home Hub do the job?
Thanks, John...

hi JayKay
You can use your 7800N with BT infinity, but you will need to use the provided BT Infinity modem in conjunction with the 7800N.
1. Plug your BT infinity modem up to the 7800N's EWAN port (Fifth port)
2. Make the some changes to the WAN interface on the 7800N (see attahced screen shot)
You should be up and running.

Have you changed the Protocol to PPPoE ?

You need to make sure the following is set correctly.
(Make sure you are on the basic menu then go to WAN on the left hand column)
1. Main port has to be set to EWAN
2. Make sure you have set the protocol to PPPOE
3. You need to enter your BT username and password in the sections provided
4. Click on 'Apply' and router should save and reboot (when ever making WAN changes the router has to save and reboot for changes to take effect)
I hope this helps

Thanks for your input.

It took me ages to get this to work - there are a few quirks.
1) Change cable from the modem to the router - the BT supplied cable with the red ends doesn't work, swap it out for a standard ethernet cable
2) Change WAN settings to:
Main port: ewan
Protocol: PPoE
3) Change user name to:
bthomehub@btbroadband.com – no password is needed
And woosh - you're connected.
