Wan Ping & Intrusion Detection settings in Firewall

Should WAN ping and Intrusion Detection be enabled when setting up the firewall settings?
If so what are the recommended settings for Intrusion Detection?

I ran a scan on Sheilds Up and got the following

Results from scan of ports: 0-1055

0 Ports Open
0 Ports Closed
1056 Ports Stealth
---------------------
1056 Ports Tested

ALL PORTS tested were found to be: STEALTH.

TruStealth: FAILED - ALL tested ports were STEALTH,
- NO unsolicited packets were received,
- A PING REPLY (ICMP Echo) WAS RECEIVED.

Any help in setting up the firewall to get a better result would be appreciated.
Thanks

I would enable intrusion detection and leave settings at default.

Ping .......... if you want true stealth then set it to off. Some will tell you to allow ping, others not. Some applications need ping to work, personally I have ping blocked.
