I am using my 7800N with sky fibre.
I notice that the reported sync speed is 35000 both up and down.
Am I correct in thinking this is incorrect and I should just ignore it?
I have an 80 / 20 connection and was getting that full amount with the sky router as I live so close to the exchange and cabinet.

Ignore it, this will be removed in future firmware releases.

When you say it will be removed, will we be able to see our correct sync speed?

Re: Router showing wrong sync speed
This not the sync speed, the only way to find your sync speed is if you login to the openreach modem, as the openreach modem is syncing with your line.dog-man wrote:When you say it will be removed, will we be able to see our correct sync speed?

Re: Router showing wrong sync speed
So how come my sky router shows the sync speed of 80 / 20?

Re: Router showing wrong sync speed
Because it is a Sky router, customised to connect to their openreach modem and grab the sync info.

No it doesnt!Because it is a Sky router, customised to connect to their openreach modem and grab the sync info.
The openreach modem can't distribute sync speeds to anybody. The sync speed is provided to SKY from the DSLAM in the same way that BTW are able to provide the IP profile in their speed tests etc. SKY provide the data to the router via the DCHP data as part of the extensions they use for their implementation of MER to send the log in credentials from the Router back to them.
