Hi
Please see the attached screen shots.
Please make the changes to the VLAN section and also to the WAN section of the router.
Once done apply the settings, save the config to flash memory and restart the router with current settings (this is a must when ever any WAN changes are made)
I hope this helps

Forgot to add that your talktalk TV box should now use LAN port 4 on the 7800

Can you post some screen shots of your WAN profile page and your VLAN page so I can double check your settings, also did you save your settings and restart the router with current settings after making the change??

Sorry to jump on an old post..........
Thinking of buying the 7800n and would set it up for Talktalk IPTV if possible.
I use powerline plugs to create a wired network in the house with 4 plugs in total, one of which runs a switch running a sky box, smart tv and now a talktalk tv box. The settings above seem to mean a single port must be configured for IPTV but as I use powerline I need the port to support normal internet as well. Is it possible to send IPTV and normal internet out of one port on the 7800N? My talktalk router manages this, but does everything else badly.......
Thanks for your help.

No don't think you can use the port for normal internet usage, as you have to setup VLAN for port 4

Thanks for your response, sorry to be a pest but you dont happen to know how the talktalk router manages it? As in is there a particular feature that I should be searching for in my elusive hunt for the best router to support my house and small business. The information on the Talktalk forums is a little sparse. I had hoped that the 7800N was the holy grail....
I am looking for a broadcom chipped router for my long line, ability to adjust SNR, ability to run IPTV over a shared port and a good quality firewall, so pretty flexible in my needs.
Interestingly, I bought a 7800N second hand from ebay and briefly tried it, unfortunately the wireless was already failed, so I returned it without messing about with the settings other than a quick SNR reduction. It seemed to connect nearly a meg slower at 4dB than my current DGN2200v3 which I believe is also a Broadcom chipped router, so I was a little underwhelmed in its performance (5 meg vs 6 meg so quite a significant % drop). Realistically, the Firewall benefits may outweigh the speed penalty in terms of small business security. I was even toying with using the DGN2200v3 as a modem and the 7800N as a router for the firewall benefits but am no expert in this so this may be a complete waste of time!

I don't have any information on the talktalk modem/router, I assume they have the firmware customised for their service.
