7800N ethernet problems too

Wireless seems to work fine.
Intermittent hard-to-describe problems with internet access via ethernet. Some pages hard to load. Upload seems a problem. I have typed this entry before.
No LAN. Cannot see NAS or other computers on ethernet.
Any ideas welcome. To me sounds like a return to Amazon.

Do your computers get limited or no connectivity once the issue occurs (meaning a IP address starting with 169?)

Does the issue occur when heavy amount of traffic is passed through the LAN?

Have you tried or tested the EWAN port to see if the device that is connected to this port has the same issue?

Do then LAN lights on the front of the router stay on?? or change colour at any time?

Hi
Thanks for the interest.

No, I get the right IP address and some connectivity.

Does the issue occur when heavy amount of traffic is passed through the LAN?
The connectivity with the internet doesn't seem affected by the LAN, though that would be hard to test given I haven't got one!

Have you tried or tested the EWAN port to see if the device that is connected to this port has the same issue?
No, not tried the EWAN port at all. Worth a shot.

Do then LAN lights on the front of the router stay on?? or change colour at any time?
Yes, the lights stay green. Flicker when there is internet traffic. No flicker when there is no LAN traffic.

So it seems the DHCP server is doing its job, Are you able to ping your devices on the LAN (via IP address) when the issue occurs?

I meant when you are transferring data to and from your NAS on the internal network for example? Also what do you mean by "that would be hard to test given I haven't got one"

Have you tried or tested the EWAN port to see if the device that is connected to this port has the same issue?
No, not tried the EWAN port at all. Worth a shot.

Let me know the outcome

Yes, the lights stay green. Flicker when there is internet traffic. No flicker when there is no LAN traffic

So everything looks fine there

Thanks for all this.
I can't see the NAS with windows explorer so no traffic to it at all. Don't know the NAS IP address. Tried ping <name> didn't work. Will set up laptop anon and see if that helps.
Afraid DHCP beyond me.
