DSL and Internet lights fail after reboot

Hi
I have had the 7800n for just a week and am impressed with the connection to BT broadband, which has proven to be stable and quicker than my ageing Linksys WAG325.
I started to explore the various settings in the router and decided to add a timeslot to turn off the wirless signal at overnight.
Once the changes were made I "saved config". The settings were lost so I re-entered and presses "restart" . The router then went through the reboot procedure and the progress line showed the reboot went through the cycle.
Once rebooted the modem would not connect to the internet. Both the DSL and Internet lights were out on the modem. I checked all the setting in the modem and they were fine. I "unset" the turn off wireless feature and rebooted again. Still no lights for the the DSL or Internet.
After tryingr another couple reboots I eventually reset to factory settings then re-entered the settings for BT broadband. The lights still had not come on.
Eventually I found the “quick start” menu and re-entered the same settings again. This time I received confirmation that the Wan had been established and it did work with both lights being illuminated. The router is on version “g” firmware as shipped.
Have I made common mistakes in trying to set the Timeslots or have others reported this issue.
Thanks
Mike
