Port Blocking

Hi

I'm trying to block access on my home network to World of Warcraft/Runescape/Minecraft etc. Can anyone give me a walkthrough of what to do? Searches bring up plenty of advice for port forwarding, is this the way to go.
Sorry not much of a techie.

Ned

If you want to allow any games/software to access the internet then you use port forwarding virtual server section.

If you want to block a game from being able to access the internet, then use the Firewall - Packet Filtering Section, add the IP address of your machine as the internal IP, action = drop, direction = outgoing and add the ports that the game uses.

Thanks Billion_fan

I,ve already got the following setup in the firewall packet filter for Wow;

IP version - 4
Internal IP address - 192.168.1.100 to 150
External IP address - any
Protocol - TCP/UDP
Internal port - 1119
External port - any
Direction - outgoing
Action - drop
Time schedule - always on
I have another entry for Wow for port 3724, 2 for Runescape (4394/5 & 8010) & 1 for minecraft (25565)

However it doesn't seem to work, is there anything obvious I'm missing? I googled to find the ports these games use so I hope they are correct.

Thanks in advance

Try adding the port as a external port (never tried this before so maybe worth a try)
