Hi I have just upgraded to Fibre Broadband, and I would like to re-instate my Billion 7800N because the Wireless is far superior to the TT supplied wireless router unit.

I have changed settings to EWAN and tried to connect using my previous Username etc, but the settings in the tt Modem say that there is no need to add Username and Password as security is done via the land line connection. So far I haven't managed to get through to the internet as I get authentication failures.

Has anyone successfully connected the 7800N to the BT Fibre modem and Talk Talk?

Please will you help.

Try the following changes

1. Reset your unit back to factory defaults
2. Login and click on 'WAN' on the left hand side (Basic Menu)
3. Change the port to 'EWAN'
4. Change the 'Protocol' to 'Obtain A IP address Automatically'
5. Click on 'Apply' the unit should save and reboot
6. Make sure your 'BT Open Reach Modem ' is connected to the EWAN port on the 7800N
7. Once rebooted check to see if you have a internet connection

I am using my 7800n with TalkTalk fibre. All I needed to do was set it to EWAN, and remove the client it I think it was (was previously set with sky username/email or something). Then it just worked.
