8800NL Setup parameters for Plusnet UK

Post by goldbug101 »

Hi Folks.

Trying to replace the Plusnet-supplied OR modem and SagemCom router with the 8800NL but although ADSL light is on, cannot get internet light to come on.

From factory default what parameters do I need to change to get the 8800 to talk happily to Plusnet on FTTC / VDSL?

Thanks in advance for your help.

We can communicate without the need to see each other, which is something incredible.

1. Reset the unit back to factory default settings
2. Login to the router on http://192.168.1.254
3. Click on 'Configuration >> WAN >> WAN Service'
4. Click on 'Edit' button for the PPPOE interface (PTM)
5. Enter your username and password in the section provided
6. Ensure the '802.1P Priority' is set to 0 and the ' 802.1Q VLAN ID' is set to 101
7. Click on 'Apply'
8. Click on 'Status >> WAN'
9. Check to see if your PPPOE connection has a 'IPv4 Address' shown, if you still don't have a green internet light on the front of the router double check your 'Advanced Setup >> Routing >> Default Gateway' to ensure your PPPOE connection is listed under 'Selected Default Gateway Interfaces'

Thanks very much.

Now up and running on Billion and apparently getting nearly 26mbps.
