NAS WD My cloud & WD My Book Live

Post by ricke17 »

Hello,

Periodically my WD My Cloud and My Book Live's IP address changes, which means I have to reinstall the software on my Mac for it to "see" these devices.

Is there a way of forcing my 8800AXL to keep the IP's to these two devices and, if so, is it easy to do?

Cheers in advance,

Rick.

1. Login to router
2. Click on 'Configuration >> LAN
3. In the middle of the page you should see a 'Static IP Lease List' section
4. Click on 'Add' button
5. Enter a 'Host Name'
6. Enter the 'MAC Address' of the device in question
7. Enter a IP address outside the DHCP range eg 192.168.1.200
8. Click on 'Apply'
9. Restart the device in question so it should now obtain the new fixed IP address, (this IP address will be assigned to the device everytime the device is started)

I hope this helps :D
