Total Internet usage

Post by mrthicky »

Hi all,
please could someone tell me how to measure the total broadband download/upload through my 8800nl?
Is the total shown in Status-> statistics-> wan service (in bytes)? And is there a way I can record/export it?
thanks a lot!

Depends on how technical you are. I use MRTG (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi_Rout ... ic_Grapher) but for that you will need a host up all the time for the collecting .

I think that is the amount of data (in bytes) received and transmitted since the interface went up (see status -> summary -> connect time).

Okay thanks. I suspect I may be out of my depth with MRTG :) but thanks for confirming the location of info about download/upload, that was the main question.

I use DSLstats, http://www.s446074245.websitehome.co.uk/. It's easy to set up but again you need to have a PC running all the time to do the stats collection.

I use an old web book my sister didn't want connected to a 1TB external drive to run DSLstats.

thanks, this could work for me. This will sound a daft question but will it continue to record if the pc drops to "sleep" mode?
