At least its not just me, but it would be nice to find a fix for it. I can at least live with it if I have to.ricke17 wrote:SNAP - all mine go crazy yet I can still connect to the internet etc

I have a TP Switch behind the TV with all the ethernet gadgets attached - had to move it as all that crazy blinking was irritating!

Re: BT YouView Setup on Billion 8800AXL
I have 2 of them, one on my desk with all ports used as the Billion is about 8 foot away behind me, 1 for the Billion, 2 for my PC and Home Server, 1 for the BT box linked to my monitor (all in my PC room) and the last port linking to the other switch in the lounge in my A/V rack, but I have not noticed that blinking but it is partially concealed. I think I will have to investigate that as well.ricke17 wrote:I have a TP Switch behind the TV with all the ethernet gadgets attached - had to move it as all that crazy blinking was irritating!

Re: BT YouView Setup on Billion 8800AXL
The Billion is connected to my desktop switch via a 10mt CAT 6 cable run through the loft as we live in a bungalow. I did purchase a 20mt CAT 6 cable with the intention of running that from one of the spare ports on the Billion to the second switch in the lounge thus freeing up one of the ports on my desktop switch but I never got around to it and thought that it might have been a bit on the short side as it is going to opposite corners on the bungalow.ricke17 wrote:Wow - what a setup!

Re: BT YouView Setup on Billion 8800AXL
This is my set up:
10m ethernet from one port on the billion to the TV with a 16 port gigabit switch (TP Link) with shedloads of gadgets attached.
Ethernet 2 - Apple Time Capsule, which provides my Wifi (Billion's wifi is switched off) and backs up the Mac.
Ethernet 3-5 (Using the red one as an ethernet port - no set up required) have NAS storage attached which provides DLNA streaming to various gadgets and the TV.
So I am making the Billion do lots of work and it's surviving!

Try enabling 'Wireless Multicast Forwarding (WMF)' on the 2.4ghz bandwecpcs wrote:I have just come across a problem with the setup for the BT Youview box. When recording a non IPTV channel there is no problem, but if I record an IPTV channel it does record OK but it makes ALL my lights on my TPLink 1Ghz 5-port switch flash like crazy along with all the lights on the Billion as well and in so doing it disables all communication on the 2.4GGhz wireless channel. The 5Ghz channel seems to be unaffected (which our mobiles use). I only have 2 devices on the 2.4Ghz channel, my Canon printer (which is normally off) and my Medion LifeTab which is where I first noticed it as I only use it occasionally and I just happened to be recording an IPTV channel at the time.
I cannot see how the hard wired BT Youview box can interfere with a the 2.4Ghz wireless channel, so has anybody any ideas as to what the problem can be as I have looked through the Billion settings and nothing is obvious and all wireless settings are on their defaults.

My set up is hard-wired to the Billion - is there anything I can tinker with to resolve this in this set up?billion_fan wrote:Try enabling 'Wireless Multicast Forwarding (WMF)' on the 2.4ghz bandwecpcs wrote:I have just come across a problem with the setup for the BT Youview box. Normally if the LAN lights are flashing like crazy, normally means a lot of data is flowing through these portsricke17 wrote:My set up is hard-wired to the Billion - is there anything I can tinker with to resolve this in this set up?billion_fan wrote:Try enabling 'Wireless Multicast Forwarding (WMF)' on the 2.4ghz bandwecpcs wrote:I have just come across a problem with the setup for the BT Youview box.
