I'm trying to get the URL filter to work on the 8800axl (2.32d.dh65) However it seems to be completely ineffective.
If I enter 'youtube' or 'youtube.com' into the 'Configuration - security - URL filter- domains filtering - details' page, and check the enable box, all the clients can still access youtube. Could someone else confirm this behaviour.
It seems to have no effect whatsoever.

My SOP
1. Enable 'Domains Filtering'
2. Click on 'Details'
3. Add 'youtube' as a forbidden domain
4. Try and visit http://www.youtube.com

Seems to work OK using Internet Explorer, but fails to block when using Chrome or Firefox. Is this because they connect via the https protocol?

That would explain it, and makes for a pretty useless feature. When you consider many sites someone might want to block have HTTPS addresses.
eg. Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Myspace......
I cannot understand why the router can't accomplish this. it should block when a DNS request for www.blocked.com is detected not traffic on port 80. My old Draytek 2820 managed it without fuss.
