8800NL 2.32e becoming unresponsive

Post by brummygit »

Hi

I've recently bought an 8800NL and upgraded straight away to 2.32e. I am running RouterStats against the router to monitor my aDSL line.

Twice the router has stopped responding to the RouterStats program, and also won't accept and HTTP access via the LAN interface. I can't find a way of accessing other than a hard reboot.

Does the internet connection continue to work when the issue occurs??

What if stop running router stats, does the issue occur??

Yes my internet connection continues to work through the wired network. I'm not sure about WiFi.

I'm working away from home at the moment and have lost the management access again so can't try it without RouterStats until I return home to reboot.

I have also had to downgrade back to dh65 firmware. Every 2 or 3 weeks (always Friday night / Saturday morning), the router would totally lock up. No WiFi or Ethernet connections available, so cannot access the interface to check the logs. The only way of resetting the fault is power cycling the router. It then reconnects first time and runs again for 2 or 3 weeks and freezes again. The indicator LED's all seem as usual, some constant and some flashing, but with no connectivity. This fault has not occurred whilst running the dh65 firmware at all, so can only assume the 2.32e has some form of bug within it that is either time dependent or reacts with something my ISP PlusNet does overnight on the Fri/Sat period.

Any ideas, otherwise I will stay at the previous working firmware.

Thanks

Stick to older firmware if that is working fine for you, most of the fixes are implemented into that firmware anyway

I went back to firmware 2.32d.dh65 and so far the router has been stable for around 2 weeks.
