8800AXL Connecting Wireless AC Mode

Post by ksdp37 »

Hi,

I've recently acquired an 8800AXL since moving to a Fibre VDSL connection, having previously owned the fantastic 7800N router.

I've also got a TP-Link T4UH WIreless 1200 AC Adapter and when I connect to the 5Ghz SSID on the 8800AXL, it still shows as connected in Wireless N mode in the wireless properties.

Where am I going wrong as I assumed that connecting to the 5Ghz band would automatically connect me to the AC mode?

I'm in the room above the router itself so signal strength itself is excellent through the floorboards.

Thanks,

Make sure the 'Bandwidth' is set to 80mhz on the 5ghz band.
